Biography written by Peter J. Jamieson

I first met Kristen in 2010. I was immediately impressed by her professionalism, her rapport with her clients and the advanced level at which she practiced family law.

Prior to joining the firm, Kristen worked at two prestigious Boston law firms where she advised clients in the area of taxation and Wealth Management. Kristen’s prior experience honed her skills in drafting, legal research and writing, and gifting, including the preparation of gift tax returns and related tax documents. Kristen’s previous experience also exposed her to the dynamics of familial relationships. Kristen’s work in Wealth Management also often led her to the Probate and Family Court where she oversaw the probate of clients’ estates.

I have had the pleasure of observing Kristen interact with her clients on a daily basis and I’ve witnessed the expertise and care she brings to each and every case. I have also worked hand in hand with Kristen on a number of cases and I can assure you that Kristen’s entire focus is on her client and achieving their goals. Kristen understands that issues in family law are very personal and can be emotionally charged. At the same time, Kristen is wise, analytical and provides her clients with excellent legal guidance, while balancing the emotional aspect of all family conflicts. Kristen is extremely responsive and is available to her clients in their time of need, even if that means afterhours or on the weekends.

Kristen is also extremely pragmatic. While she can be a vigorous advocate in the courtroom, she also knows that not every issue in a case requires the time, stress and money involved in a court hearing. Kristen is a skilled negotiator and as a result of her efforts, many of her cases will settle without the time and expense of a trial. Yet, when a court hearing is necessary, Kristen’s preparation, patience and courtroom presence allow her to effectively argue issues including everything from a difficult custody case to a complex business valuation.

Kristen is a familiar face to the legal community. She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association where she serves on the Family Law Section Council and Membership Committee. Kristen is also a member of the Greater Boston Family Law Inn of Court. She participates as a speaker on panels discussing family law issues and she frequently attends continuing legal education courses to advance and refine her skills.

Kristen grew up in the Boston area and is an avid Red Sox fan, which is why it came as shock to everyone who knew her when she married a New Yorker, Eric, who is an avid Yankees fan. Kristen and Eric recently welcomed their new son, who Eric is determined to make a Yankee fan despite their Boston residence and proximity to Fenway!
