Biography written by Cyndi Grover Hastings

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Pete since September 2009. He joined the firm with solid experiences that made him an excellent family law litigator from the start.

His experiences interning at the Suffolk Probate and Family Court and Greater Boston Legal Services while still in law school not only demonstrate his early commitment to the field of family law, but also established the skills that make him an effective advocate during settlement negotiations and court hearings. Following his graduation from law school, Pete accepted a coveted position as a law clerk to the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court where he assisted the judiciary with a wide variety of family law and probate matters. As a law clerk, he formed professional relationships with judges and court staff, gained practical knowledge of the workings of the probate and family court, and honed his legal research and writing skills.

Pete and I have worked on many cases together. One thing I have always appreciated about Pete is the level of professionalism he employs with everyone involved, whether they are his clients, the other party in the case, an attorney, or other professionals. This carries over to the courtroom, where I have seen Pete argue zealously on behalf of his client at a contested hearing or trial, while always maintaining a professional demeanor. It is at court where you really will see Pete shine. Once you have seen him in action, it is easy to see how he earned the title of William J. Daniel Most Outstanding Advocate while attending law school.

During his years of practice, Pete has deepened his understanding of family law and is adept at handling complex issues such as tax consequences of support orders and property divisions, valuations, contested custody, and complex financial issues. Pete is also always cognizant of the personal nature of family law, and that issues are often very difficult and emotional. His clients benefit not only from his considerable expertise, guidance and legal advice, but also from his creativity and initiative to resolve cases in a manner that is cost-effective and expeditious.

Personally, I have been impressed by Pete’s level of dedication to his clients. When Pete is your advocate, you will have an attorney that will take your case to heart and work tirelessly on your behalf. Whether that entails working long hours at night or on the weekends, or accommodating your schedule by meeting at times and locations convenient for you, Pete will do whatever it takes because he is truly dedicated to ensuring the best possible outcome for your case.

His dedication extends beyond his clients to the field of family law itself. He continually furthers his education by attending legal seminars, and frequently serves on the faculty panels. He is a member of several professional associations, and has been instrumental in the formation of Young Divorce Attorneys of the North Shore and most recently, the Greater Boston Family Law Inn of Court.

Pete brings the same level of dedication to his family, making time to enjoy life with his wife, Laura, and their dog, Lando. When he is not working, you may find him at a local Karaoke bar or kite surfing on Cape Cod.
